Why SEL?
As a member of our school community, we hope you appreciate the Social and Emotional Learning resources provided on this page. Ensuring the social and emotional well-being of students and staff helps us to cultivate a supportive school climate and culture. When school community members feel valued and safe, a sense of belonging is reinforced. This sense of belonging allows individuals to access the opportunities and resources our district offers each day. In addition, developing SEL competencies promotes success in school, college, and career.

Lighthouse Teams
Each of the four schools in Eatontown Public Schools have a Lighthouse Team, an SEL-forward committee consisting of the building principal, guidance counselor, and other staff members. Each Lighthouse Team creates Leadership, Academic, and Culture goals that focus on equity, inclusion, and student social and emotional well-being. The purpose of the Lighthouse Team in each school is to coordinate the implementation of the Leader In Me process at a balanced pace to achieve desired results.

Eatontown Public Schools partners with local community health and wellness organizations to provide school-based services to the students of Eatontown. See below for more information about the programs and services available, and contact your child's school guidance counselor for information on how to participate in these programs.
YMCA of Greater Monmouth County
School-Based Counseling Services
Growing up isn’t always easy, especially given the pressures that today’s kids face at home and school, like getting bullied on social media, navigating standardized testing and struggling with difficult family issues. YMCA of Greater Monmouth County's Young People’s Program empowers children and adolescents to cope with difficult situations through 1:1 therapeutic counseling sessions in the convenience of their school. The Y’s school-based Young People’s Program helps schools address the behavioral and emotional health needs of their students.

School-Based Nurse Practitioner Program
Nurse Practitioners provide primary health care services at the school for children in Pre-K to high school. Services may include diagnosis and treatment of common childhood health issues, medication prescriptions, health screenings, and management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes.
NJ FamilyCare is federal and state funded health insurance program created to help qualified New Jersey residents of any age access to affordable health insurance. NJ FamilyCare is for people who do not have employer insurance. NJ FamilyCare - New Jersey's publicly funded health insurance program - includes CHIP, Medicaid and Medicaid expansion populations. That means qualified NJ residents of any age may be eligible for free or low-cost healthcare coverage that covers doctor visits, prescriptions, vision, dental care, mental health and substance use services, and even hospitalization.
