Approaches to Learning
Eatontown Public Schools views each student as an individual student, with individual needs. Each student comes to preschool at a different level. Some children are ready and eager to learn, some are not equally ready. Our emphasis on early learning is to support children’s motivation to learn and help students develop positive attitudes towards learning.
Approaches to learning include these developmental components:
Self-regulation of attention and behavior
Effective social skills to develop positive relationships with others
Positive attitude toward learning
Self-motivation for learning
Listening skills
Ability to set goals and develop follow through on plans
Understanding, accepting, and following rules and routines
Finding more than one solution to a question.
